About

Taya Elzayadi is a curator and art advisor working between Cairo and London, specialising in contemporary Egyptian art. She advises collectors on acquisition and collection development, and artists on positioning and career growth — bridging the two.

She co-founded Tache Art Gallery in Cairo before completing an MA in Art History and Visual Culture in London, and now leads the curatorial work behind the exhibitions and initiatives below.

“My interest lies in artwork that tells a story. I look for the common thread that connects different artists into a single narrative. Shaping a show around that thread is what I find most fulfilling about curating.”

Bateekha

28 international artists reinterpret the watermelon — an enduring symbol of Palestinian identity, resilience, and hope — as individual sculptural works. Exhibited at Gallery 1957 and sold at a live auction, with 100% of proceeds donated directly to Healing for Gaza's trauma therapy work for Palestinian children and families.
